![]() ![]() PS: I’ve said before kids, but really stay away from Mr T’s bins! It’s because of you hanging around near them that you’re gonna end up with one-time use activation codes. With regards to The Last Story does GC know of any announcements for forthcoming games from Mistwalker, maybe as exciting as the short clip from Monolith Soft of the presumable Xenoblade successor? Really hope you’re right about Wii U and 3DS becoming the natural home for these types of games, so I don’t have to think about shelling out for one of the other new consoles. I’m hoping to find an underpriced copy of the limited edition Xenoblade Chronicles next (with Pro Controller) but it’s not so easy here in Taunton now that HMV has about one game in total in store and the GAME shop has followed the Gamestation shop into the great retail heaven/hell, plus our ace Blockbuster store is closing. I like the British voiceovers a lot too even though I know GC didn’t wholly agree, Syrenne’s a standout and she sounds like Dobby from Peep Show (she isn’t voiced by Isy Suttie). The Last Story (how did the creator of Final Fantasy come up with such a unique name!?) is fairly typical in the story stakes but the battles are great and not having it being turn-based really marks it out from a standard Japanese role-player (even though I quite like the turn-based ones). I also reckon the super tight controls in a lot of the Nintendo big hitters help to give them an edge. Really enjoying both games and I can’t even think of a game that comes close to Galaxy 2’s imagination apart from the predecessor. A few months/years late with these thoughts on games but one reason for me getting a Wii U at launch was to catch up on Wii games I’d missed out on over the past three years and since Christmas I managed to get Super Mario Galaxy 2 brand new for a tenner (thanks Morrisons) and the other day found a new copy of The Last Story for £13 in Blockbuster. ![]()
